Sam has been nominated by his peers, and was selected to receive the Basic Life Support Provider of the Year Award.
Sam is a thoughtful and compassionate professional, dedicated to the success of our agency and his peers. Like many emergency services providers, Sam works at multiple EMS agencies. He regularly shares his experiences with PVA, helping and encouraging us to grow in support of our community and our corps. Most recently, Sam recognized an opportunity for improvements to the PVA station, so as to promote an efficient yet supportive work environment. These enhancements included restructuring work spaces and revitalizing crew rest areas. His efforts have helped PVA to achieve an important balance between professional workspaces and the comfortable family atmosphere necessary for the well-being and preparedness of our responders.
Sam’s dedication is exceptional. In addition to his work as an EMT, Sam is also completing collegiate nursing and Paramedic training. Throughout, Sam continues to advocate for an ever-better PVA. Currently, Sam is working to develop an innovative decontamination program for our ambulances, which borrows or adapts existing technologies used in the hospital environment. His goal is to reduce potential for infection for patients, and the EMTs and Paramedics who regularly operate in our ambulances.
As the recipient of this award, Sam will also be our nominee for recognition as the Monroe-Livingston Regional Basic Life Support Provider of the Year.
Congratulations Sam! We are proud to have you on our team!
